SILLUSTANI

Located 34 km from the city of Puno. It is one of the largest and most impressive Necropolises in America and the World. The chullpas (funerary buildings), are gigantic funeral monuments built in different times and cultures. These buildings constitute a challenge to the laws of balance because they have less diameter at the base than at the top.

PUKARA

The archaeological complex of Pukara, is located 84 km from the city of Puno. The investigations show that it was a pre-Inca town, fundamentally religious, that influenced the Tiwanaku culture, the same one that is shown in its architecture, sculpture and ceramics.

LAMP

Lampa pink city, known as “city of the 7 wonders”, is located 75 km from the city of Puno. Its archaeological ruins, the famous replicas of the Pieta by Michelangelo, the Parish Church of Santiago Apostle, the chinchilla farm, its folklore, its thermal waters and the stone bridge make up the beauty of the 7 wonders.

AYAVIRI

Ayaviri is located 130 km from the city of Puno. It is on the way to Cusco. Its main tourist attractions are: The colonial temple dedicated to San Francisco de Asís, Tinajani (bath of the devil); whose geological formation is so capricious that it causes the admiration of explorers and geology scholars, they also have thermal baths.

FLOATING ISLANDS OF THE UROS

Located in the bay of Puno. They are floating islands built from totora, constituting perhaps, as one of the oldest peoples of America. Despite the time elapsed, they still maintain their customs, beliefs and community organization. The main activity of its inhabitants is; Fishing, Hunting and lately, crafts and taxidermy.

TAQUILE ISLAND

Located 35 km from the city of Puno. The main attraction is its communal organization, where the beliefs, customs and ancestral traditions of the Inka period; their dress and main activities remain in force

AMANTANI ISLAND

Located 38 km away from the city of Puno. The customs and way of life is similar to Taquile Island. The impressive andenerías for agriculture, is one of the very peculiar attractions of the island. One of the characteristics of the island is the skill of its inhabitants, for the cutting and carving in the volcanic rocks, elaborating tables, chairs, etc.

ISLA SUASI

Located 70 km from the city of Puno. Small private island, where you are developing an important project of ecotourism, agro ecology, recreation and rest.

EXPERIENCE AND ADVENTURE

CHUCUITO

Located 18 km from the city of Puno. It was the capital of the Lupakas in Kolla culture, known as the most powerful man in the highlands. In Inca times, a unique monument to fertility was built, called “INKA UYO”. At the time of the colony, the temples were built and it was an administrative seat, where they operated the royal boxes of the king of Spain.

CUTIMBO

The archaeological complex of Cutimbo, located 22 km from the city of Puno. Where there is pre-Inca and Inca archaeological evidence; cave paintings of 8,000 years old, chullpas of different dimensions (funerary buildings), with zoomorphic representations in high relief. The existence of these structures explains the worship rooted in the dead and the belief in immortality.

JULI

Located 80 km from the city of Puno. Known as the little Rome of America. During the colony it was a great cultural and religious center. It preserves its urban architecture and its landscapes. It has four temples, the same ones that maintain a great amount of pictorial works of the schools Cusqueña and Italian.

POMATA

Located 130 km from the city of Puno. Called “The Philosophical Variety of the Altiplano”. There is a beautiful and extensive landscape of the lake. During the colony was built the majestic temple of San Santiago.
